Such a pretty location on the banks of the river...and a warm Welsh welcome from all the staff greeted us. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the afternoon tea was easily the best I have ever had. The sandwiches were fresh and the scones and welsh cakes in particular melted in your mouth. The experience was a gift from my son and his family....one I hope they will repeat.

Bettws y Coed is the gateway to Snowdonia at its southern end and Craig-y-Dderwen is its hidden secret. Tucked away on the banks of the River Conwy amid green-clad forested slopes there is no more serene haven to which to escape to relax. If you are taking tea you need to leave behind your conscience but take your best appetite. Welsh home-baking at its best is seved with old-style courtesy to make this an unhurried and unforgettable experience. No better gift can be imagined.

We were lucky with the weather, so we sat outside. Very peaceful and relaxing on the balcony overlooking the river. Lovely unhurried afternoon tea. Everything was delicious with a nice selection of teas. Would thoroughly recommend spoiling yourself here.

Pleasantly greeted by staff and shown to a lovely window-seat overlooking river. The tea was beautifully presented on a 3-tier stand and we were able to choose speciality teas from a menu with a refill offered, if necessary.

My Red Letter Day was a retirement present from my work colleagues. It is the first time I have ever had afternoon tea and it is day that I will always remember and look back on with fond memories. The hotel was superb and the staff couldn't do enough for my husband and I. We sat in the lounge looking out onto the most magnificent view ever. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Everything about the afternoon was first class.

We had a lovely afternoon. We arrived early on a sunny warm day. We were met by friendly and attentive staff and on the advice of the recepetionist we strolled through the meadow along side the river. It was beautiful. We were served our Afternoon Tea at a table in a bay window overlooking the river, what wonderful surroundings to enjoy excellent smoked salmon sandwiches, scones, welsh cakes and more..

The hotel is up a long road, just as you go into Betws Y Coed. It is set in oodles of green gardens, with the River Dee running alongside. The day was so beautiful, we sat outside on the terrace and ate, til we could eat no more. The welcome was warm and genuine. The food, coffee and tea were fantastic and we stayed for nearly 3 hours. Taking a walk along the river after eating. Fantastic setting, brilliant food, great offer!

The location was lovely! Comfortable old school, friendly hotel with lovely large sitting areas for afternoon tea with absolutely stunning views!! The food was beautiful (including probably the best smoked salmon sandwiches i've ever had) and with loads of it. The service was friendly, attentive but certainly not too much. We were given plenty of time to enjoy out experience and offered plenty of refills of tea. Fantastic

We enjoyed wonderful personal service, in a very relaxed and beautiful surrounding. Both inside and outside the Hotel, we felt that we had come aside from a busy week and found some time of peace and tranquility. We were greeted and served with care and attention, every effort was made to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Smoked Salmon Sandwiches, home made scones and welsh cakes, fresh cream and more! delicious. The lounge area was cosy and had a lovely view of the river and valley. We will certainly return and will take friends to enjoy the experience. Thank you for a Special Afternoon to be remembered for a long time to come.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea of smoked salmon sandwiches and numerous different types of cake! Unfortunately the rain simply fell down - the first for about 8 weeks! This meant that we couldn't sit on the terrace, as planned, but we were shown to comfortable chairs and a table in a bay window overlooking the river, so we still had a magnificent view. Service was excellent and a nice way to spend an afternoon.

'Tea for two' at Craig-y-Dderwen in Conwy, what a delighful way to spend an afternoon, in a top quality hotel. Drinking cups of tea, with fresh scones and sandwiches, enjoying the wonderful surroundings.
